Hole Punch Toys are conceptualized, sculpted, molded and poured by hand, one at a time, at Hole Punch Studio in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Each piece begins life as a sculpture in polymer clay from which an initial silicone mold is taken. Into this mold, a duplicate is poured in urethane plastic. The plastic duplicate is then further refined and perfected. From the final model, a second silicone mold is made. It is in this master mold that every toy is lovingly poured. Each one is unique, with it's own tiny differences from the next.
If you look closely you will notice faint seams along two sides of some of the toys. I left them visible in the photos quite intentionally. These ARE NOT flaws. They are evidence of a product that is hand poured into a two piece mold. They in no way effect the feel or performance of the toy. They should, if anything, be a reminder that you are the owner of a unique piece of small batch craftsmanship.
All of the toys are made from platinum cure silicone rubber, which is very nearly a perfect material. It is non reactive, heat and chemical resistant, and long lasting. Which means that taken care of and kept AWAY from silicone lubricants, they will last a good long time.
My goal is to make toys that fill the gap between art and plaything. Toys that look as fun as they are fun to play with. In this I hope I have succeeded.
Thanks for looking!
